A scene from the tomb of queen Nefertari were the queen is being lead by goddess Isis. "Nefertari Meritmut" depicted in the left of the scene. Nefertari means 'beautiful companion' and Meritmut means 'Beloved of [the goddess] Mut'. She is one of the best known Egyptian queens. Nefertari was the main wife of pharaoh Ramses II and her tomb with its vivid wall paintings is one of the most beautiful tombs in the valley of the queens. The famous Egyptian queen lived circa 1279–1213 B.C. and on her death king Ramses II honoured her with one of the most beautiful tombs in Egyptian history and a temple next to his colossal monument in Abu Simbel south of Egypt. Isis on the right of the scene is the famed female goddess of ancient Egypt. She was a major goddess in ancient Egyptian religion whose worship spread throughout the Greco-Roman world. Isis was first mentioned in the Old Kingdom (c. 2686–2181 BCE) as one of the main characters of the Osiris myth, in which she resurrects her slain husband, the divine king Osiris, and produces and protects his heir, Horus. Isis was also known for her magical powers, which enabled her to revive Osiris and to protect and heal Horus. Isis was a member of the pantheon of 9 Egyptian gods of the old kingdom and has always been linked to fertility, magic and protection of travelers.
